Software Cradle and Wright State University Open Center for High Performance Computing
DAYTON,
April 28/ -- On April 11, 2008, Software Cradle Co. Ltd. headquartered
in Osaka, Japan and the Department of Mechanical and Materials
Engineering at Wright State University (WSU) in Dayton, OH signed a
collaboration agreement marking the official opening of the Center for
High Performance Computing at the WSU Joshi Research Center. The
partnership will focus on fluid/thermal simulation and applications
research and will provide students and participating engineers the
opportunity to solve real world design problems using Software Cradle’s
suite of state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software
products. The signing ceremony was attended by local government
officials, a senatorial representative, local corporate management,
university staff, and the media.
 WSU Provost, Steve Angle, and Cradle President, Ichiro Komada sign the collaboration agreement WSU
is a public university with an enrollment of over 17,000
students. It offers 155 degree programs including 46 graduate and
professional programs and was recognized by the Princeton Review as a
2008 “Best in the Midwest” college. WSU has been an active
participant in graduate and professional exchange programs with several
Japanese educational institutions. In addition, the city of
Dayton, OH supports a large technology, engineering, and manufacturing
base and is attracting many Japanese ventures.
Software Cradle
was established in 1984 and specializes in development of fluid/thermal
simulation software including SC/Tetra CFD software, STREAM CFD
software, and HEAT Designer for electronics design. Software
Cradle is a leading supplier of fluid/thermal simulation software
products in Asia and is growing it’s presence in North America and
worldwide.
